Sharlene Birkin - Founder and CEO
Sharlene (BA Drama/ PGCE Drama with English/QTS/NPQML) has worked within the secondary education sector as a Leader and Manager for nearly 20 years. She has taught in Italy, London and the Midlands and currently works as a Middle Leader in a Nottingham secondary school. Inspired by her own Drama teacher and grandmother, she set out to become a drama teacher herself, gaining a place at the prestigious Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Sharlene published her first short story in 2016 and is currently working on her second novel. Alongside her full-time job, Sharlene works with individuals to ensure that the Luminary Studios' mission is active. She hopes that the next generation discovers their purposes in life and are fearless and creative in achieving them.
Caetano Capurro - Director of Acting
Caetano (BA English/ PGCE Modern Languages) is an Uruguayan playwright and poet who is currently teaching Spanish in secondary schools. He has been working in theatre for the last four years having been part of 26 shows. He focusses on community based arts projects and hopes to empower and promote the youth of Nottingham to express themselves artistically. "I believe everyone has a story and a voice, my goal being to help amplify this!"
Alonzo Simpson - Strategic Operations Specialist
Alonzo (LLB Law/ PPTLS Teacher & Trainer/ Level 3 IAG / NVQ 4 Learning Development & Support Service - Young People/ Level 3 Marketing) is currently an Apprenticeships Ambassador providing Advice, Support and Knowledge on Apprenticeships in Schools and Further Education colleges on behalf of the Government’s Department for Education. Alonzo applies his gifts, talents and knowledge in several creative areas such as Music Production, DJ workshops and Radio Station Management. He is an advocate for young people and passionate about reducing the numbers of young people who are not in employment, education or training.
Esha Francis - Digital Communications Specialist
Esha (BSC Fashion Technology) is currently a Digital Communications Officer. For 6 years she worked in the digital field for a High Street brand in their e-commerce department. She is committed to inspire and motivate the younger generation to believe that anything they can set their mind to is achievable with hard work and determination.
Akiem Mundell BEM
Akeim (Foundation Degree in Teaching/ BA Professional Development in Education) 29 Years Old, is an Assistant Principal at William Hulme's Grammar School in Manchester. He is currently one of the UK's youngest Assistant Headteachers. He started doing community work at just 13 years old due to the loss of a good friend. His efforts resulted in the creation of under 18s events which helped to inspire young people and to keep them off the streets, working in collaboration with Greater Manchester Police & Manchester City Council. While building his teaching career, Akeim was honoured for his campaigning for young people in Manchester - Having received 18 national awards - His most proudest two being the Honorary British Empire Medal from the Queen in 2017 & being awarded as a Honorary Alumni Fellow of the University of Bolton.

Chantae (LLB Law) is a solicitor, specialising in probate law. She is ambitious and passionate about her career and works tirelessly within her profession.
Nakiya
Nakiya is currently studying Dance, Drama and Performing Arts at college and extends her passion for the Performing Arts industry in her spare time. She hopes that many more young performers can be inspired and fall in love with the arts.
